Minimax Regret k-sink Location Problem in Dynamic Path Networks

چکیده
This paper considers minimax regret 1-sink location problems in dynamic path networks. A dynamic path network consists of an undirected path with positive edge lengths and constant edge capacity and the vertex supply which is nonnegative value, called weight, is unknown but only the interval of weight is known. A particular assignment of weight to each vertex is called a scenario. Under any scenario, the cost of a sink is defined as the minimum time to complete evacuation for all weights (evacuees), and the regret of a sink location x is defined as the cost of x minus the cost of an optimal sink. Then, the problem is to find a point as a sink such that the maximum regret for all possible scenarios is minimized. We present an O(n log n) time algorithm for minimax regret 1-sink location problems in dynamic path networks, where n is the number of vertices in the network.

Minimax Regret Sink Location Problem in Dynamic Tree Networks with Uniform Capacity
This paper addresses the minimax regret sink location problem in dynamic tree networks. In our model, a dynamic tree network consists of an undirected tree with positive edge lengths and uniform edge capacity, and the vertex supply which is a positive value is unknown but only the interval of supply is known. A particular realization of supply to each vertex is called a scenario. Under any scen...
متن کاملMultiple Sink Location Problems in Dynamic Path Networks
This paper considers the k-sink location problem in dynamic path networks. In our model, a dynamic path network consists of an undirected path with positive edge lengths, uniform edge capacity, and positive vertex supplies. Here, each vertex supply corresponds to a set of evacuees. Then, the problem requires to find the optimal location of k sinks in a given path so that each evacuee is sent to...
متن کاملA Polynomial Time Algorithm for Minimax-Regret Evacuation on a Dynamic Path
A dynamic path network is an undirected path with evacuees situated at each vertex. To evacuate the path, evacuees travel towards a designated sink (doorway) to exit. Each edge has a capacity, the number of evacuees that can enter the edge in unit time. Congestion occurs if an evacuee has to wait at a vertex for other evacuees to leave first. The basic problem is to place k sinks on the line, w...
متن کاملRobustness in portfolio optimization based on minimax regret approach
Portfolio optimization is one of the most important issues for effective and economic investment. There is plenty of research in the literature addressing this issue. Most of these pieces of research attempt to make the Markowitz’s primary portfolio selection model more realistic or seek to solve the model for obtaining fairly optimum portfolios. An efficient frontier in the ...
متن کاملMinmax Tree Facility Location and Sink Evacuation with Dynamic Confluent Flows
Let G = (V,E) be a graph modelling a building or road network in which edges have-both travel times (lengths) and capacities associated with them. An edge’s capacity is the number of people that can enter that edge in a unit of time. In emergencies, people evacuate towards the exits. If too many people try to evacuate through the same edge, congestion builds up and slows down the evacuation. Gr...
